Some Gold Family History

1964 - Doors open at the “Gold School of Dance” in Randolph , MA

1965 - Our 1st annual recital at Randolph High School

1969 - Sherry Gold's celebrates it's 5th anniversary

1971 - Sherry Gold begins a career as a master teacher at dance conventions throughout the United States

1972 - Sherry Gold begins a “Teachers Class” training some of N.E. finest dance educators, Sherry Gold founded Terpsichore Awards Performing Arts Competition, one of the1st dance competitions in the United States, Student Janet Connors is named Miss Dance of New England , the first of many for the Sherry Gold Dance Studios

1974 - Sherry Gold's celebrates its 10th anniversary

1975 - The Sherry Gold Dance Company is formed and begins to perform throughout New England

1976 - The school moves to Brockton and becomes “Sherry Gold’s Dance Unlimited”

1978 - A branch studio, Sherry Gold’s Dance Unlimited 2 opens in Middleboro, the Sherry Gold Dance Company lands a recurring job on the television show “Stage Door Disco”.

1979 - The Sherry Gold Dancers perform at the Aladdin and Sahara Hotels in Las Vegas, The Gold Family founds American Dance Awards later to become one of the largest dance competitions in the country

1982 - “Gold Studio 3” opens in Boston, MA, Rhee Gold is named Mr. Dance of America

1983 - Sherry Gold produces “Kubla Khan”, a musical dance revue at the Boston Shakespeare Theatre, Dance Magazine does a feature story on the “Gold Family”

1984 - Sherry Gold's celebrates it's 20th anniversary, Jodi Goodman is named Miss Dance of America

1986 - Rhee & Rennie Gold appear on “Starsearch”

1988 - Second story addition is added to the Brockton Studio, Nancy O’meara is named Miss Dance of America

1989 - Sherry Gold's celebrates it 25th anniversary

1993 - Rennie Gold choreographs “The Boys” making it to the final round of “Starsearch”

1994 - Sherry Gold's celebrates it's 30th Anniversary, in August we mourn the loss of Sherry Gold to terminal cancer, Sherry Gold receives the “Presidents Award” for outstanding achievement from Dance Masters of America

1995 - Rhee Gold takes over as director of the school, Kristina Day is Named Teen Miss Dance of America

1996 – Rennie Gold takes over as director of the school, the “Summer Intensive” is founded attracting hundred’s of dancers throughout the U.S. and Canada

1997- 12 Sherry Gold Dancers are asked to perform at the White House for the Annual Easter Egg Roll

1998 - 32 Sherry Gold Dancers are asked to perform at the White House for the Annual Easter Egg Roll

1999 - Sherry Gold’s celebrates its 35th Anniversary, 7 dancers are chosen to participate on the U.S. Tap Team to compete in Germany bringing home the gold medal, The Tap Team appears on Good Morning America, the Donnie and Marie Show and the CBS Morning Show

2000 - 24 dancers participate on the U.S. Tap Team to compete in Germany bringing home 2 Gold medals, “Dance Teacher” magazine does a feature story on the school

2001- More than 100 dancers participate in the world Showdance and Tap competitions in Germany, bringing home many medals

2002 - Kyle Robinson is named Teen Mr. Dance of America

2003 – Sherry Gold’s is named one of the top 50 schools in the country by Dance Teacher and Dance Spirit Magazines, Katie Kozul is named Petite Miss Dance of America, Stacey McIntyre is named Miss Dance of  America

2004 - Sherry Gold's celebrates it's 40th anniversary, Kyle Robinson is named Mr. Dance of America

2005 - The NFAA awards Kyle Robinson a $10,000.00 scholarship presented by Mikhail Baryshnikov for excellence in modern dance, Katie Kozul Named Jr. Miss Dance of America 2006
