HOUSE FACULTY
Rennie Gold – Teacher, Choreographer and Director of the Sherry
Gold Dance Studios
Gold
began dancing at age three, when his mom founded the Sherry Gold
Dance Studios in the basement of the family home.
At
eleven he received his Actors Equity Card and was performing
professionally at the Chateau De Ville Dinner Theatres throughout New England.
Rennie performed at the
Sahara
and Aladdin hotels in
Las Vegas
and produced Outrageous
at the Opera House, a musical dance revue featuring the Sherry
Gold Dance Company while still in High school.
Under
Gold’s leadership the Sherry Gold Dance Studio has doubled its
student body with many “Sherry Gold alumni” achieving tremendous
success. Students are working as professional artists
throughout the world and have been
accepted to the finest dance programs, universities and companies in
the nation. Rennie’s students have also performed at the
White House three times.
While
living in New York
and Los Angeles, Gold trained in all forms of dance
with many of
Americas
leading educators before embarking
on a career as a choreographer.
While
resident choreographer at Walt Disney World he staged productions
for Pleasure
Island
, MGM Studios, the
Magic
Kingdom, the Christmas Parade and many
other events. Trade show credits include; Reebok, Whirlpool, Keds
and Smirnoff.
Nailah
Randall-Bellinger – teacher and
choreographer
at
Sherry Gold’s since 1995
Nailah
began her training in ballet, Dunham and modern jazz techniques at
the Inner City Cultural Center in California.
Her performance career began with Gerald McCall and Raymond
Johnson and extended to company work with Fast
Feet Inc., directed by Jamie Nichols; Karen McDonald’s New
Age Dance Workshop; The
Haitian American Dance Company; and Fatou
N”Dyiaye’s African Dance Company.
Nailah
is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Dean
College
in Franklin, MA, where she teaches Horton and
Dunham techniques as well as dance history, film survey in dance,
and dance composition. She
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Franco-African Literature and a
Masters degree in interdisciplinary studies from Lesley
College
.
Nicholas
Baga – teacher, choreographer and alumni of Sherry Gold’s
21
year old Nick Baga grew up in Boston
training at the Sherry Gold Dance
Studio. Now living in Los Angeles Nick has been
touring the US, Central and South America
with artists such as Paulina Rubio,
and Aaron Carter. He has performed live at the "Teen
choice awards", and the Presidential Inauguration with JoJo,
and can be seen in her latest video "Not that kind of
girl". Most
recently, you might of seen Nick's face on K-swiss, and Target T.V.
commercials.
Kathy
Kozul – teacher
and choreographer
at
Sherry Gold’s since 1993
Kozul
is a former member of Boston Ballet and Boston Repertory Ballet who
has danced leading roles in the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty,
Swan
Lake, Concerto Borocco, Allegro
Brillante, and Tarantella. Kathy is a faculty member at Walnut
Hill
School
and the Sherry Gold Dance Studio.
She has served as a guest artist for America’s leading dance organizations and
her students have achieved success at the Youth America Grand Prix
and are the recipients of the Capezio Award for Excellence in Ballet
and the Gus Giordano Award.
Larry
Sousa – director of Sherry Gold Dance Company benefit
performances, choreographer, guest teacher and Alumni of Sherry
Gold's
Larry
Sousa recently won the prestigious Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle
Award for his choreography for Sondheim’s Anyone
Can Whistle, a great honor made more so as he was nominated with
the Broadway mega-hit The
Producers. Last
summer, Larry directed the New York
premiere of You
Mutha, A One-Mom Show, receiving rave reviews. He has directed
and choreographed productions at some of the country’s top
regional theatres, performed in numerous Broadway companies,
appeared in several sitcoms and commercials, and designed scenery
and lighting for more than 30 productions in Los Angeles and New
York. Larry holds a BFA
in theatre from Ithaca
College,
and he pursued a unique individual
MFA program in theatre at the University
of California
at Irvine
.
