Dear Rennie Gold and the Sherry Gold Dance Company,

Thank you for your generous gift to the American Red Cross in response to Hurricane Katrina. Your donation makes it possible for the Red Cross to help Hurricane Katrina victims with critical needs such as shelter, food, clothing, counseling and other assistance. It's because of your gift in support of Hurricane Katrina that our response can be immediate.

Your generous support means the most to the families who rely on Red Cross to help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Please continue to visit us at http://www.redcross.org/ to see how we're using your Hurricane Katrina donation to make a difference, and for the most current disaster updates and stories about the people being helped.

Together, we can save a life.

 American Red Cross

Dear dancers, parents and supporters,

I just want to say thanks and congratulations on an amazing performance.  Your hard work and dedication truly paid off, again!

The positive response to “I Have a Dream” has been overwhelming; the most frequent comment is “the show was so inspiring”.  Not only did they like your performance, I think they were inspired by the message.

It takes countless people to make a benefit like this a success and I feel blessed to be surrounded by so many caring and dedicated people.  To Kathy, Nailah, Larry and Nick your choreography and direction is a gift I truly appreciate.  As role models for all the students at Sherry Gold’s I couldn't ask for more.

To so many people who just had a few kind words or worked doors, tickets, programs, load in and out and all the jobs that are so important…THANKS.

As far as ticket sales, this was the best ever; we will be able to donate more than a $1,000 to the American Red Cross for the Katrina victims.  So, not only did this performance touch the soul of those who attended, you've also been a part of helping so many disaster victims that need our help.

The finale songs asked “What have you done today to make you feel proud”.  I think you all have an answer to that question and me too!

Sincerely,

Rennie Gold

A Winner

When a winner makes a mistake, he says, "I was wrong"; When a loser makes a mistake, he says, "It wasn't my fault."

A winner works harder than a loser and has more time; A loser is always "too busy" to do what is necessary.

A winner goes through a problem; A loser goes around it, and never gets past it.

A winner makes commitments; A loser makes promises

A winner says, "I'm good, but not as good as I ought to be"; A loser says, "I'm not as bad as a lot of other people."

A winner listens; A loser just waits until it's his turn to talk.

A winner respects those who are superior to him and tries to learn something from them. A loser resents those who are superior to him and tries to find chinks in their armor.

A winner feels responsible for more than his job; A loser says, "I only work here."

A winner says, "There ought to be a better way to do it." A loser says, "That's the way it's always been done here."
